My final exam project was a little difficult for me; I had some trouble finding what I wanted to do. Soon I just decided I’m just going to do what first comes into my head and that will be my inspiration. I decided to kind of take from the movie Up and a little from Doctor Seuss. The balloons came from the movie, and the quote, “you know you’re in love when you can’t fall asleep because finally reality is better than your dreams.” Came from Doctor Seuss. I used paint as my only media and sharpie to outline some detail and write the quote, I used print making with a piece of linoleum and free handed the rest. The clouds, balloons, and the basket was all printmaking. I faced a few challenges, mostly with the red balloons though, I found that I let the paint dry too long before I let it print and it became a little blotchy. I also found challenges when just painting free hand because I realized it can be a little difficult when using such think paint. I feel my strength was defiantly my clouds, I used Van Gogh as my inspiration for them and I feel like they turned out perfect. My weakness was defiantly my balloons, they didn’t turn out how I had planned and I feel like if I would have been a little more careful, they would have turned out.

Peter Callesen
I found a artist's blog i really like, his name is Peter Callesen. He creates 3D objects out of paper, snow, works on water, and ice. i really admire how much detail he puts into everything, and how abstract he can make peices and how real they can be at the same time.

final prints
This is one of my final prints, now with the project complete I am sort of relived. Throughout the whole process I was really nervous of how it would turn out, and Im not exactly disappointed with the outcome but I just wish I would of want at it a different way, I feel like I made it too complicated.

work update
I have found that this project is Soo much different than the other lino print we did, with that it is also a lot more difficult. It is so much more time consuming and stressful because if you mess up you are loosing a lot of hard work. I experimented with different colors but found that sticking to the first color scheme was much easier. I guess what is influencing me right now is my grade, I just keep telling my self to keep going or my grade will suffer.

100 years from now
i feel like there are soo many differnt things that could be considered valuable during our time 100 years form now. the world will be a completly diffrent place and will probably have created even better technology then it does today, so maybe just a cell phone from our time, or the 1st ipod ever made. i also think that certain movies that have came out could be worth sommething, like iron man, avatar ect.
But as for the art world i feel like Tattooing is a growing fad right now in our culture, and right now i seems like its not that special, but as time goes on they may start to become rare and the unique ones could sometime become well known and displayed somewhere.

Week 1 - Wood Block Vs. Linolium
There is one diffrence between the linolium process and the woodblock process that makes it so much harder, and that is that after each print you then have to carve awayt the color you added, i found that i had to make alot more of my first prints so that i had room for error as i moved forward in the process.
